"Challenges are what make life interesting and overcoming them is what makes life meaningful."
-Joshua J. Marine
Greetings! I am Jason Justice and I am aspiring to enter the American Workforce. I would like to welcome you to my Portfolio, where you will be able to explore my life and what I have learned throughout my life and high school.

I am not familiar with Joshua J. Marine, however, his quote symbolizes how I am moving through school and life as I take classes that are challenging and require a lot of devotion and effort. Life has not and will never be easy for most people and the only way to get through challenges and adversity is to overcome them. I see myself as a car driving down a road. The road has bumps and potholes that will try to hinder my Journey.
I hope my readers will take the time to view the site and get to know me. Thank you for your time.

Theme Description
My theme is centered around “The Summit of Growth.” The Summit of Growth combines the aspects of mountain climbing and the Pathway to Success theme. I selected this theme since I have had to go through many challenges during my educational journey, like a climber does going up a mountain. This theme relates to my personal and professional goals since I have had to face challenges, and at times it feels like I am fighting an uphill battle with good and terrible times. The theme will utilize a color scheme that is akin to a naturalistic setting, and photos and quotes will be demonstrated that match the theme and atmosphere I will try to convey.
Theme Demonstration
The way the theme will be envisioned is that I slowly highlight my growth and progress akin to going up a mountain. I will tie it to a finishing line or mark, just as a climber can spot the mountain's summit. The finishing line will be the resume. The portfolio will be a buildup to the resume, just as the climb is the ascent to the summit. An example of the theme being reflected in the portfolio is in my goals page. When a prospective visitor opens the goals page, they will see that I have chosen a color scheme that attempts to blend nature settings into the portfolio.
I have also included a quote at the beginning of the page that hopes to encapsulate the tone set for the page. I then proceed to explain away the content while an image of a mountain is set in the background to give away a naturalist aura. In addition, the quote about the journey of a thousand miles starting from one step ties to the goals page by implying that my goals start from a certain point and will be accomplished when I follow all the steps necessary.
Navigation Guide
Past the Welcome page, there will be an introduction page. This page will introduce myself, provide some background on my history, and give a more detailed description as to what the portfolio entails. The next page is goals, which will outline both short-term and long-term SMART goals. SMART is an acronym for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-Bound. The Core Skills page will deal with what skills I possess and how they will be an asset to my future goals.
Under Core Skills, there are subpages that will detail my competency in Written Communications, Oral Communications, Critical Thinking, Information Literacy, and Intercultural Competence. The Program Outcomes page describes my program outcomes in Creative Problem Solving, Social-Scientific Literacy, Communication Competence, and Understanding Arts and the Human Experience. Each page will elaborate on my experiences in each of those categories, the work I have completed, and how they have forged my path. The Additional Educational Experiences will go in-depth into any remaining Educational Experiences that were not covered previously. Finally, the Resume will come, which will detail what I’ve done to serve the community and how I can be an important asset to the careers I seek.
