About Me
Introduction
Hello viewers! My name is Jason Justice, and I am currently heading into college. I am interested in history topics like biking or walking in my spare time. As a person I would describe myself as laid-back and easygoing, and as a learner I strive to learn new skills and information while bettering myself for the good of the community.
"You don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great." — Zig Ziglar

Personal Background: A few facts pertaining to my personal background is that I am part of a family of four, with a mom, dad, and a sister along with me being present. We also have a dog. I am of African, Hispanic, and Native decent. A significant life experience I can recall is when I first traveled out of my region via plane into New York City. Visiting the USA’s largest city gave me an eye-opening experience relating to the world beyond my home, and from there I slowly became more interested in regions and histories far beyond my own.

Motivations
What Motivates me?
What motivates me to pursue my education in SPCC and the field of study I am currently going into is a willingness to help others in need. What drives me to succeed is the will to better myself, make a positive impact on my community, help others in need, and make people around me proud. My upbringing is also a primary motivator for my journey, since I hope to achieve a stable career, a comfortable lifestyle, and make a difference in my community through my education.
Hobbies and Interests
What interests me?
As stated before, I am interested in history. My constant perusing of history has helped me constantly acquire new knowledge, as well as keep me interested in reading complex works. It is also thanks to my interest in history that I have ended up where I am currently now, that is, moving toward social services and having a greater awareness of both my local community and global community. I am also interested in community matters sometimes, which helps me determine how I can and should help others. I also like to occasionally ponder on life matters from time to time and go on walks or bike rides to clear my head.
SPCC learning experiences
What learning experiences have shaped my path?
My learning experience at SPCC has been one of ups and downs. I have had to endure adverse times, and sometimes I felt like I was not able to complete all the work assigned to me. I remember working on a particular public speaking assignment. The assignment came at a time when I had just failed a previous public speaking assignment since I did not speak for the allotted time. I was determined to learn from my experience and pull off a great report, so I researched and practiced as much as I could so I could hold up a better speech, at least compared to my earlier one. When I finally presented my speech, I was able to rely almost entirely on my own spoken word as opposed to notecards and my research. In fact, a few of my classmates asked me how I was able to do the speech without notecards, and I simply answered that it came to me. I got a 92 as opposed to a 29 on my first assignment, which was a major improvement. Another time, I had to take the lead on a history presentation since most of my group members lacked the adequate and constant communication that was required for us to proceed. I was able to lead the group towards excellent results thanks to my handling of the situation and was therefore able to shoulder both my own and other people’s burdens
